The Revival
In 2015, a group of students representing the past and present of YSU Hockey came together to reform the hockey team. Players who played on the previous incarnation of the team came out to play their final year while others volunteered their time as coaches, scoreboard operators, or however else they could get involved. Without their dedication in the years without a team, YSU Hockey may not be here today, and we are eternally grateful for the effort those before us put in every time we lace up our skates.
Who We Are
“We’re a pretty gritty team... We grind and we’re very aggressive. Hitting is one of our biggest strengths."
-Enzo Recchia, from The Vindicator
“We’ve got a few rivalries... People just hate us because of our style of play. People get mad but it comes with respect. They might not like us but they’ll respect us.” -Zack Jones, from The Vindicator

Youngstown is a city full of people from all walks of life. People came to Youngstown to seek the American Dream by working in the steel mills that define our city's history. These people came for an opportunity, and the opportunity was only earned through hard work. Today, the same hard working mentality that defined Youngstown's past still defines our city. When you represent Youngstown, you're expected to put your head down and grind till the job gets done, and that's what we strive to do every time we step on the ice, in the weight room, or in the community.
